# discord-reaction-award
A Discord bot that republishes highly reacted messages into an award channel. Each user's first
reaction contributes 1 point; additional emoji from the same user have diminishing weight (1/3, 1/5,
...).
## Configure Discord
The bot needs the Guilds, Guild Messages, Guild Message Reactions, and privileged Message Content
gateway intents. It needs these channel permissions:
- View Channel
- Read Message History
- Send Messages
- Embed Links
Set TOKEN and CLIENT_ID in .env, then start the bot:
```sh
cp default.env .env
deno task start
```
Global slash commands are registered at startup. Use `/config output` first, followed by the
optional channel list, emoji list, and score settings. Server owners and administrators can run
configuration commands.
The runtime configuration is stored in `config.json`. Set `CONFIG_PATH` to move it elsewhere. Both
`.env` and `config.json` are intentionally excluded from Git and Docker build contexts.
## Develop
```sh
deno task check
docker build -t discord-reaction-award .
```
